I have a 97 Limited 4 Runner. It has leather seats with cloth covers on them, my choice leather is too slick and cold. The issue is no matter how long or short a distance I drive it when I get out there is always a static charge built up so when you shut the door as soon as you touch metal you get shocked. Anyone have any ideas on grounding or some other possible solution. I know this not a big deal but its one of lifes little annoyances I could do without.

I get that with my cloth seats.

What I do: when I'm stepping out of the vehicle, I hang onto the door striker post the entire time. Grab it before you start getting out. As you slide out, touching the steel of the car will either drain off the charge, or prevent it entirely. It always works for me.
