In looking through my bumper brackets, I found a set with ink stamped part numbers. I know they were on a red barracuda that had been hit in the front at one time and all the front end was replaced with NOS stuff. The ink stamped part # are 2962 442-3 and 2962 446-7. You can still see the partial label from the Chrysler depot. These correspond to the parts book for a 70 with rubber bumpers. They have other numbers stamped on them like normal but the numbers are 2962 444-5 and 2962 448-9. These numbers are not in my 70-71 book. Any one have any explanation?

Mark,

I can't quite follow your question, are you asking about the origin/application of the ink stamp numbers and the other numbers being on the same part respectivly?

Hope all is werll out your way....

I am sure that the ink stamps are the correct number for a rubber bumper and are genuine. I am wondering why the numbers that are stamped with steel stamps are different and not in my book as any application. My other bumpers brackets that are made for chrome bumpers are stamped with the correct numbers with steel stamps and they match up with the parts book. If these bumpers did not have the ink stamp, one would not know what they fit by the number steel stamped on them. Make sense? Things are looking up this direction.

I would try and find someone with a 70 only parts book. These books have part#'s in them that the 70-71 books don't.One example is the part# for the jack hook for a rubber bumper cuda,it's in the 70 only book but not the 70-71 book. John.
