I am in the process of upgrading the cam and heads on my 360 LA stroker.Yesterday i changed the cam ,reinstalled the chain ,and put the front cover and water pump on.Today i started thinking about what i did and was wondering about somthing.I remembered one of the cam retainer plate bolts having a hole drilled through it.Not knowing if it mattered , i reinstalled it on the driver side bottom hole (i think). Will it matter ? Im thinking this hole in the bolt was to provide extra oil to the chain ? Will the chain oil enough if its oriented wrong ?Please dont laugh as im new to Mopars ,and im winging this by myself without a manual .Chevy's dont have all these extra things ,so im not familuar with this .This is my first Dodge.Anyway ,it will sucks to have to take the cover and pump back off ,but i wanted to make sure it was okay before i put the balancer back on .Thanks ...

You'll be fine... but if you looked at the hole locations
the pass side hole is lower so thats where you would
put the bolt with the hole... no big deal

did you degree the cam?if not you might as well take it apart and degree the cam.the last cam i put in and didn't degree ended up with bent exhaust valves because i installed it dot to dot.problem was found to be one of the dots were stamped one tooth off.not saying yours is just sayin it can be costly if not right.

Beielve it or not , i already went to the parts house got the gaskets and switched the bolt in 1 hr.It does go in the top passenger side correct ?Also while were on the subject ,the gasket kit came witha big felt type washer.Does this go on the crank between the oil slinger and balancer ?This piece was not in there when i disassembled it.Do i need it before i put the cover back on ?

yes, bolt goes in top left corner.

the big felt washer goes on the damper first, then install the damper on crank. the felt washer is against the seal like a dust boot. on the outside of t-cover.

oil slinger inside t-cover for back side of seal.

do you have a metal oil dripper on the lower left bolt with the tang over in the right lower hole?

the oil thru bolt is early set up then they went to the metal oil driper.

no problems running both.
