Just for giggles we`re going to smog test my Dart on the 5-gas analizer in school next Tue. and compare it to some modern stuff to see the differences. What do think this pig is going to spit out the pipes?

Wanna peg the machine????.....put a lit Bic Cig lighter next to the sniffer......usually pegs a 5 gas....what does that tell you?....lighting a cig puts 2 bad elements in you......like sucking on a tailpipe...LMAO

Get it good and warm, then test it when it's 'happy' or up on the cam. It should be pretty good.
It will kick out a lot of HCs at idle due to overlap. It will almost certainly have a lot of CO at idle too, due to incomplete combustion and a rumpy cam likes rich at idle.
NOx might be high at high RPM, due to no EGR and probably high compression.

Give it a vac leak after you get a base sniff and
do it again.... what is your A/F at mid range

You could also add a gallon of denatured alcohol to your fuel tank...it helps with smog issues/ runs cleaner..

But do you think it will pass? Ya, 97 degs. of overlap should play hell under 2000r`s.............I`m mostly looking foreward to their faces when I put it in the bay and rattle the place apart. I`ll also compare a modern day 5-gas analizer to my "gross polluter"......could learn something plus I`ll note my wide band #`s at the tested rpm`s............fun stuff.....oh ya, I`ll be leaving this class w/an A and at least one cert. I`v learned more in two months(crash course)than I have in two years in terms of ALL of the sensors and their role in these modern marvels and how to test em to verify their condition(s).

I`ll do that...............it cruises between 13.5-14.3 last time I checked it.

I thaught about a 91 pump gas test compared to the VP-100 I generally run but not sure about your deal..............something to think about.

NoX should be good with all that overlap. Internal EGR.

Between the overlap and running richer than stoich all the time, nox is going to be quite reasonable. HC's, not so much...
