Another post got me thinking.... 1st I should have listened to my friends and saved the extra coin for an aluminum hemi block.... but since I didn't, where can I lose weight off my block? And would it be anything substantial?

Quite a bit of the weight in a World block is in the cylinder walls, I believe.

Well, you could always put it up for sale, and then order an aluminum one. These blocks all seem to sell pretty well, especially if its already been fully checked over by a builder. I was in the same boat as you, and had I waited, I cold have afforded the aluminum one a few months later. I was upset about all the weight, but you know, I weighed the car with my iron headed small block in it, and then a month later with the hemi, and I'll be danged, the Indy headed hemi is only 150lbs heavier according to the scales. So I am still under 3200lbs, and I am ok with that. We weighed it on the same scale and I am still surprised its not that much.
X2 on the cylinders as mine is only bored to 4.310" and the info said I am good to at least 4.560" I think. I will have to find the paper work that came with it, although I have no intention of ever boring it that far.
Head deck on mine listed as +.900" thick, and yet, they managed to drill the head deck holes into the water jackets...Plenty of meat in them for sure.
