I bought a new master cylinder and the push rod retainer did not come with it. Called the parts store and they said it dosn't come with it And he can not get one. Which company sells them. I checked the web and I can't find one. Thanks for the help.

I've used a snip of vacuum hose the same length as the recess at the end of the pushrod (I forget the dia needed). I've had the correct ones & the above side by side & no difference ex for a groove along the length of the correct ones. I just assumed that it is to let air out as you push it into the piston blind hole so it will seat in there correctly. I cut a groove & the snip of hose locks in super tight/never an issue

Seems crazy to pay $6 bucks or more for this (don't forget the shipping)
I've never bothered cutting the groove.
