hotairballoonpilot OP master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 5,664 South Dakota	Dad was wondering if the 5.7's would bolt up to the original tranny and motor mounts in his 4 wheel drive 98 full size truck? Its just a 318 but only has 50-60K on it. He doesn't want to go buy a different truck to pull with if it is possible to just do an engine swap. I know the wiring is probably different and we were thinking that the plug and play harness' maybe that answer unless others know different. thanks corey Contact Me about AMD Prices

70Cuda383 Too Many Posts Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 21,345 Marysville, O-H-I-O	no. it's not a bolt in swap. has it been done? yes, with some minor fabrication work. there may even be conversion mounts available on the market now, the few instances of guys putting 5.7 Hemi's into Dakota's that I know of, did it several years ago when the 5.7 hemi was still pretty new. Photobucket sucks

I think the guy took the computer, wire harness, engine, trans, and gauge cluster out of a donor truck and used that to swap everything into his Dakota Photobucket sucks
