I bought 1 about 4 or 5 years ago.I would not waist my time with them again.I picked mine up in elkhart In. at the factory. In this case it was a manufacturer named Storm.I left there & was headed back home & about 50 miles or so I felt a vibration, looked in the miror & there went the lift front wheel.Thank god not 1 car was near me.it rolled across the highway hit the center jersey wall & got jammed in the snow.I pulled over & sat there for a while to collect myself.A state trooper helped me out to get off @ a exit.I called storm & all they had 2 say was yea we have lost a few wheels off of them.Dont know what to tell you.Call a towing co.to pick it up & repair it as it had sheared all the studs off.Of coarse it would be @ my expense.I found a auto zone bought 5 lugs & studs,a 3/8 extention,& a hammer.Drove the studs out & used a 4 way to pull the new studs through. The best part was I had a spare mopar ralley wheel in my truck as the trailer was 4&1/2 bolt circle.I was back on the road in 2 hrs.Tore the fender up & trashed the wheel though. It took 6 months to get a tire & fender out of them after numerous calls & being jerked around. Finally I had to threaten them with legal action, then my parts showed up. Sorry to go on a rant but I would hate to hear of someone else going through anything close to what I went through. They are plenty of very nice used trailers out there that are equiped for great prices now.
Dont cheap out on a trailer.you get what you pay for

truer words have never been spoken.

All you have to do is look at the price, that'll tell you what your getting with trailers. There's big reason some trailers cost more and you should not buy the cheap ones.

Just curious, did the lugs come loose allowing the wheel to fall off?

A friend of mine just bought a pro line, he hates it. MTI is another brand to stay away from. My father bought one and you get to the track and you can't get the doors open without a bottle jack. Our classic is 11 years old and it's like brand new. But they went of business. I'm going to buy a vintage before spring. I've heard quite a few good things from owners of them

like anything else cheap trailers aren't good and good trailers aren't cheap. personally i've never seen any trailer that didn't have quality/workmanship issues NONE

i finally (when i had money) broke down and brought an ATC 40' all aluminum goose. it's nice but there's still more than a couple things i find unacceptable

Yes,they were all loose.I tightened the rest. The front right was fubar though.I picked it up @ the location where they build them. The trailer had steel wheels on it no alum. Not saying that that caused it but we all know to check the lugs a little more often with alum. wheels.Upon further inspection the angle on the lug nut & the wheels were not even close so how could the lug nut seat well.Anyway I sold that thing after the whole ordeal & bought a 28' forrest river built all alum. trailer.Man what a difference! Sure it costs 5 times as much as the pro line but this one is complete, carpet halfway up,a/c, coin floor, stereo, work benches, ect. I think if you have a budget on the trailer weigh all the options, new verses used 1 or 2 years old.Lots of deals out there...

When I got my new 24trailer I had to sign a paper to stop at 50 mile and tighten the wheels.

Problem with buying used is these people want what you can buy a new one for.

Ever seen Gold Rush trailer up close?
I had one and I didn't have one complaint, it was a awesome trailer and sold it for almost what I paid 7 years eariler and 125000 miles later with not one problem. Mine was used when I bought it.

I had 3 enclosed trailers before that one and the Gold Rush pratically cost nothing to use it for 7 years and it was great.

Just remember to compare apples to apples. Are the axles the same rating? Same type of suspension? What tires are installed? Is the frame, walls and roof all on 16" centers? What is the thickness of the aluminum skin? I can go on and on. Looking at a couple of 24' boxes with 4 wheels under them may look the same, but once you start digging in a little deeper you start to understand the price difference. BTW, I would never recommend to a friend to purchase an enclosed trailer that has only 5 lugs on each wheel. Your trailer is maxed out or darn near once the car is loaded. Purchase one with heavier axles so you can safely load the car, tools, fuel and other support equipment. Good luck with your research!

Exactly...5 lugs=15" tires and wimpy axles. A friend of mine that I traveled and raced with had a ecomemy Haulmark trailer and his dragster tires caved through the floor one trip and come to find out that his floor supports were 24" OC not 16" like my United Expressline trailer was.
His 24' trailer also 15" wheels on it and tore up fenders and I stopped to help him several times to change tires. One time he did not have a spare and couldn't use mine because mine was 6 lug and 16" wheels.

That's when I learned the differences in trailers.

Thanks to Bruce Litton in Indy for selling me a decent United Expressline trailer twice over the years. I didn't even know I had good stuff until I started looking at other trailers at the track.

Call Trailer World in KY. I have had real good luck with the products they carry. Talk with Keith Ryan.
