i have a 3 curcuit Quickfuel Dominator & someone told me the air bleeds get progressively bigger on each curcuit. is this correct? because mine aren't & to be honest, mine runs like crap except for WOT. does any body have a reference to what a 1050 dominator should be on the air bleeds so i can check & see if this is why mine is such a pig?

That is not necesarrily true Do you have an O2 sensor? Bleeds affect fuel curve, different fuels will have different requirements. those requirements can be wildly different.

If you have some O2 readings that will help get it diealed in otherwise describe the issue and maybe we can help. I have not played with many Quick Fuel carbs but most dominators are pretty rich at idle, and lean up top. But again that depends on may factors. Measure what you have using small numbered drill bits. Describe what is happening and go from there. Assume it is box stock, if so I am sure QF has the info IF not you will need to measure what is there.

W/out a wide band you`re only guessing at the tune up and weather it`s rich or lean...........saves plugs and possible ring wash if rich and damage if lean........

no it's not a new box stock item. it's near new but someone has had a play & it idles nice, runs hard out nice but anything in the middle is a stumble. good thing it's a strip only car.
quickfuel will not answer e-mails & unfortunately there are no numbers stamped on this carb anywhere. i bought it as a 1050, it might be bigger, i don't know. my 1025 racedemon runs very much the same times except it's a load more friendlier driving the pits n return road. can someone recommend a web site to assist in tuning please, one that speaks redneck would be great.

rebel......they should be....from vent to air cleaner ring....

.030 to .036 mains (bleed by itself)
.065 to .085 mids
.045 to .055 idle

Its pretty common for dom carbs of the 3 circuit version like yours to run rich everywhere and ok at wide open....you should consider a 2 circuit conversion on the carb....it will drive around like a 4150 but make great power at wide open....Jesse

i was havin the same problem as you with my 3 circut dom..after about 3 million plug changes and jet combos i just sent it to Jesse.now my car is a pleasure to drive.

Not sure how Jesse sets his up when converting them, but the older BG Dominator I have was converted to two circuit years ago. I converted it back and it runs much stronger through the middle.
I think most guys find it easier to convert them to two circuit than to tune them properly. A properly running three circuit can run great, just takes more than jet swapping to get there.
