Well just two passes and maybe had a couple loose plug wires.
spun then it was moving around so let off at the 1/8th and rolled back into it . it was driving left almost took out top end cones.
10.64 @ 126
I had the ladder bars off made them the same and put them back on so!

So I took about 2.5 flats out of the right ladder bar went up and just as I was staging brake peddle went to the floor. Got in as deep as you can without going red top bulb was long out. switched on The T brake and launched off it as brakes would not allow me to torque it. Good launch but 1.55 short as i was in so deep. Let off before the end worried about the brakes and went 10.66 @ 123. geared down to early may have bent some valves but there was a couple pop pops when I let off before I geared down and sent the tach to 8200. Pushrods and rockers are all good oil pressure but it's down on power so think it bents some valves. i have a feeling my valve springs are going away may have been what broke the exhaust rocker last week!

It did drive real straight

Well I just did a compression test low was 166 high was 179 when i checked a couple a couple weeks back there were 170 those two I checked then were 170 then are 170 now both test done cold and we loaded it up and stalled it out yesterday and just left it!
so Now we are looking at spark plugs and spark plug wires and maybe carb!

Buddy seen arcing by Number 2 yesterday cant get the boot on right as the fire core wires for 2 and 4 are insanely short where the other 6 give me lots of length?? I'll put my MSD wires back on and see if it fixes it!

Starting to think my problem is the MSD distibutor. Put new RC12YC's figure a plug that will not foul too easily. took carb apart and blew it all out changing form 94 to the as shipped 92's I normally run.
Checked the cap and rotor inside looked at all the fire core wires and other than 4 being so short you can' t get it on and it wants to run along the header. But if you pull it off the cap and get it on then the cap end is easier to put on.
Checked the float levels.

Anyhow starts up good motor is 40 deg shop is 50. starts right up and runs great hold it at 1800 sound great. then it starts to sound rougher is warmed up to where it should idle but won't. sometimes it's back to not even starting.

SO I pull coil wire off and roll it over only 1 snap to negative post and nothing. OK I'll put the spare coil on and try it snap snap snap snap snap snap snap snap.

OK think I'm cool starts right up runs good for a while then starts to run rough?? back to not wanting to start then starting?? turn the idle up and check headers for heat does not seem to get as warm and some vary up and down in temp 4 seems the worst???

so I have heard when you have this problem to take distributor apart and clean rust off rotor??

More when I get farther!

Thanks for listening!

All I did from yesterday was pull the distributor and check it pick up resistance was 550 MSD says 500 to 700 is good.
turning over it gave .31 to .28 volts. MSD say that does not matter?? so the reluctor is real rusty and some on the pick up too.
So I took the distributor apart and cleaned the rust off as best I could on the reluctor got the faces real clean with emery cloth.
Test again and pick up resistance is 570 and the cranking over volts are .34 to .28 much the same.
Put the distributor in and set close it fires right up I hold it at 1800 it stays there rock solid till I get it up to 180.
Let off it idles at 1500 in neutral and 1000 in gear. thought it would have been higher as I thought I turned idle screws up quite a bit to get 1400/1500 missing yesterday and it would not stay idling in gear.
anyways I check the timing and it is at 21 so I turn it up to 39 and now idle is at 1800 + so I turn it down put emerge on block front tires and set it to idle 1100 to 1200 in gear still way cool. shuts off and just touch the key and it fires back up.
Video is just touching the key on both start ups.
I did put Dialectic Grease on dizzy connector to 6AL.
