Mainly wondering how much of the rear frame rail got covered when the factory undercoated the rear wheel wells.

Also wondering if they put any on the bottom of the trunk floor directly behind the tires.

Thanks burdar, those are great pics that 68jim posted of the undercoating in the wheel wells. To bad about his car getting rear ended the other day. Only other picture that I would like to have seen is the area under the trunk extention down to the bottom of the 1/4 panel behind the rear tire.

CD426,

I looked in my archive pictures but had none of that area, so since the car is still up high on the lift I shot a couple more. You will have to look past some of the dirt... Anyway, when I was originally cleaning up my car I really did not find too much undercoating in this area. Thing is that will most likely vary from car to car as you factor in the human element. I was lucky in that my car was driven on the roads less than a year before conversion to a drag car. It was raced for a few years then put away in a garage. What I had most behind the wheel well was tire rubber from burnouts. But undercoating looks different than rubber so I could see what was there. I tried to be fairly close when I did the undercoating and I think that what I ended up with on the body is good. I also ended up with the required "correct splatter" on the frame rails, gas tank, fuel and brake lines, etc. not so much on purpose, but by how the Shutz guns sprays the material. Think of how the spray pattern would look when a 5 year old boy triggers a can of whipped cream horizontal... (my dad said I made quite the mess back then!)

Good luck with your project.

Other side. I did the undercoating about 4.5 years ago and it is holding up very well.
