I used them on a 496B with great results (243@.050 fast lift cam with .55" lift).

Geometry was good and I like the durability of steel. The engine was apart after about 500 miles and shafts and rockers looked great. They should be matched up with Comp's shafts of correct hardness.

With really high lifts and spring pressures, galling of the shafts has been reported. The fix is to get bronze bushings installed (RAS - Rocker Arm Services is one company that does this).

In my application they worked great as supplied by Comp.

A friens had those on his 440 and they started galling of the shaft/rocker. His machinest suggested honing the rockers for a bit more oil clearance or bushing them.

Pro-Comp Electronics makes a set that is just like these, but come with bronze bushings, cupped adjuster studs for ball end pushrods that also have oiling galleys machined into them to oil over the top of the arm. Not made by Comp Cams, not made in the USA, but fairly nice stuff. Pro Comp is one off-shore company that is making a name for themselves (have you seen their heads?!)

Are you talking about PN 1321-16 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA%2D1321%2D16&autoview=sku

I was interested in these as well. Jegs and Summit are both about 9 weeks out on these.

This is the ones I believe. This is the one I'm running with bronze bushings as I'm running a roller cam.

That's the way to do it... having RAS do their bushing mod was a really good idea.

Get ahold of Dwayne Porter a member here. He's a Comp distributor. He may have a inside advantage since he buys direct from them.

Haven't had any issues with mine running about 500 lbs open spring pressure.

I think many posted instances of galling/metal transfer can be traced to too much spring pressure (I wouldn't run any more than 500 max), overtorqued rocker shafts (better hold downs and studs do not allow more torque, use 25 ft lbs max regardless of the hardware) and wrong assembly lube (use only regular motor oil, or one of the thin assembly lubes like clevite bearing guard....do not use anything thick and pasty).

I am running about 512lbs. spring pressure and I also had a problem with slight galling of the shafts. After cleaning up the shafts I called RAS and they said to take a dremel or cutoff wheel and cut a couple of 1/4"-3/8" long shallow grooves from the center of the oiling hole on the shaft so that oil will distribute more quickly and evenly across the shaft where the rocker rests on. I did this and it worked great. No more galling.

You could do like I did and order the rockers from a Comp dealer (Dwayne Porter in my case) and buy the shafts, holdowns and studs from RAS.
