Its my first 1996 1500 ram and i need to replace the wiper motor. can anyone tell me the best way to do this

I would suggest,that if you plan on doing your own work on this truck, that you spend the $20 and buy a manual for it. I have one for every vehicle I have owned in the last 30 years. They are very helpful.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove wiper arms and cowl grille weatherstrip.
Remove plastic anchor screws and lift cowl grille from vehicle, then disconnect washer hoses from supply hose at Y-fitting. Set cowl grille aside.
Remove wiper linkage mounting bolts, then invert linkage and unplug harness and ground tab connectors from motor.
Remove crank arm from drive link by prying retainer bushing from crank arm pin with a suitable screwdriver.
Remove three screws and motor, then the nut securing crank arm to motor drive shaft.
Remove crank arm from motor.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
Torque crank arm mounting nut to 11 ft-lbs
Torque motor mounting screws to 55 in- lbs


548 cu. in., Bill Mitchell Aluminum Block, CRT 727 auto trans, Alston Chassis. 8.981et at 149.46 mph. 1.204et - 60 foot, So Far....
