If you had two coil springs equal in length same wire diameter. If one spring had 8 coils wider spaced coils and the other had 9 closer spaced coils what would be the differences? Remember spring wire thickness and spring unsprung length the same.

The 9 coil will be softer with less compression travel.

Thats what I thought but I am not sure. I think it has to do with the angle between individual coils. Also seems like the one with more coils to act more like a slinky. That being it will bend over easier. Just not sure?
