What is the type of material that is used inside the Muffler main bodies that muffle the noise. I know it's some type of fiberglass or something.

I ran the Pypes Race Pro mufflers and the Magnaflow's because they had a layer of stainless mesh around an internal perforated tube, they sound great and will last a LONG time.

Where do you presume that this Mineral Wool is available?
Know anybody that works in the trades? We use it as a backing for fire caulking around our duct work and our pipes in the HVAC field. Usually comes as a board and you cut or tear what you need. Easy material to work with but itchy [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean].

Winchester, fellas, Ladies, Okay, tomorrow or after this second storm coming, I will post some images of my current exhaust system and the incoming new. Yes, you are not alone in the Mad Scientist board. Welcome aboard. LOL. I may be wrong but I'm willing to experiment with this new lightweight system. If I remember correctly, and I may have to go to my notes to confirm, but my all steel 3.5" into X junction into 3" Dynomax Ultra flo exhaust system ending and dumping just before the rear differential weighed in the neighborhood of 68 LBS. And that is with out any tail pipes. My recent exhaust system in which I am now replacing with an even lighter system weighed much less. When I post pictures, I'll be reflecting on my notes to give accurate weight numbers.

Here's my current military spec 304 stainless tube exhaust system. It weighs in @ 37 LBS with Mufflers and all. I hand built them about 7 years back. The Dynomax Ultra flo Mufflers account for 24 LBS of it. The tubes are razor thin and are about 13 LBS.
