Hey guys

Is it possible to use small amount of NOS ( around 150hp shot ) with motor with specs like this:

Stock, mild ported heads with stock valves
Edelbrock Performer intake
Probe forged pistons
Stock rods
Stock crank
Cometic head gaskets
CompCams 20-223-3 ( 224/230@.050 ) camshaft
About 9,5 compression ratio
Petronix Flame Thrower billet distributor
QuickFuel SS series 650cfm carb

And what you think is that kind of motor capable for around 300hp power as naturally aspirated?

At 9.5:1 compression it should make real close to 350hp

If the porting on your heads works really well under .400 lift, maybe a bit more.

You can easily hit that with a 100 shot, even 150. Just get the tune up right, enough timing pulled, right n2o/fuel jetting, good fuel supply.

what about stock rods? Can they handle it? What would be REV limit? 6000-6500 max?

I would think that that cam would be done at 6000. What rod bolts? Rods are way more prone to break at the top of the exhaust stroke, not the power stroke unless you have detonation. Get the tune right and you should be ok. I would also say that 150 shot would be Max and I would be a lot happier at 100-125 if it were mine.

if its not built yet..triple check your top ring gap. it may need to be wider for NO2 your piston and ring manufacturer will have specs..
the rest of the motor will handle it without issue.
as long as the parts are blueprinted correctly during assembly.
ive been hitting mine for 8yrs..wakes the car up real nice...063 n02

here is a video of no2 vrs n/a .. both cars run same et and mph on motor..
this was a .063 no2 pill..fwiw.

I ran 150 through my 340 with similar type build, my cam was a solid 508/280 circle track cam. I had BFG drag radials, 235/60-15 that would not hook off the start. I hit it just off the line, it ran 12.90 @ 105 NA and 12.10 @ 113 on n20. I think it could have went high 11's with some stickier tires.

How big of a shot was this? how much time was spent tuning/dialing it in?
