John_Kunkel Too Many Posts Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 25,849 Rio Linda, CA	A suicide front end (or suicide axle) is a setup in which the front axle is mounted in front of the frame rather than under it. It's called "suicide" because, if the suspension fails, the front of the frame can dig into the road and flip the car end-over-end. The term is often erroneously used to describe the simple splitting of the wishbones on an early Ford but that's not inherently unsafe.
