if your pinion is centered in the housing what would the length difference be between the two axles?

thanks nick

A stock Mopar Dana 60 had around 1 5/8 to two inches, the right side being shorter. (BTW, those Dana 60 where intentionally offset per Mopar specs ) if I'm remembering correctly, maybe not that much, maybe more :shruggyIf you make your rear end centered and don't want to offset the axle lengths make sure and measure the center(if your using a spool) of the inside to the axle bearing flanges on both sides before ordering the new axles

thanks for the help.

i have another question.

if the pinion is centered in the car and the eng. is moved 1 1/2- 2 in. to the ps side having two angles on the pinion /drive shaft, is this set up going to give me problems?

No,probally not. U joints need a difference of angles to rotate around so the needles inside will spin and not sit still in one place all the time Look at four wheel drive vechiclles that are jacked up and have offset transfer cases and rear ends offset Mopar has offset the motor, trans and trans tunnels in the rear wheel drive cars to give the driver more room forever

Call Dr Diff and Strange Engr. and ask them I'm sure there is a point that to much side or up or down or combined angle on the driveshaft to the yoke can be to much, I've seen it on a short bed Toyota pickup that the kid had put 44 inch tall tires on and added two or four more inches of spring block spacers between the Dana 60 rear end housing and leaf springs to jack the back up higher, I'm sure your no where near that extreme If so don't do it
