i think i have the same 8" TA verta as you. great piece, i've been using mine for years with a few different combos. do you have your cam specs as that will be a deciding factor on which to use? that 8" verter of mine i've run with cams 270+ @ 050, wouldn't want to be running with a tamer cam thats for sure.

your cam ain't that different from mine, just your car is lighter with less rear gear than i'm running.
my cam is 272/279@050 with 660 lift. rear gears are 4.88, car weighs 2950 with my fat butt in the chair, slicks are 32x14 MT's, i launch @ 4400 on the brake & i usually run 1.3x 60's, 6.0@112mph half track, 9.42@142 1/4's. i'm still using a 4150 demon 1025cfm carb which probably could be bigger.
i would go with the TA verter, it'll have you right in your power band every change. but thats just my

I would put the T/A in it to start with, if you want to test the other one later you'll have a base line to start with. T/A 8 inch race converters flat ROCK

4.56's are probably ok too, i tend to holeshot most of my competition, i put that down to the 4.88's.
