It looks like there IS in fact a hole in the market for B engine MaxWedge capable intake manifolds aside from INDY. I am seriously thinking about casting my own intake manifold.
What would you guys like to see in such a manifold?
I'm thinking a 3rd Gen DragPak style could be useful.
What's important for your needs?
More cross section?
Longer runners?
Bigger plenum/Smaller plenum
Where does the INDY manifold lack in your opinions?

I look forward to your input. J.Rob

Anyone got an inside connection at Edelbrock to know if they're going to release a low-deck Super Victor? That might fill one hole in the current offerings...

A dual quad version and a dual plane version would be cool.

Mopar to the bone!!!

For a drag race engine, the Indy single plane, single four barrel intake works very well.

Any changes would have to be directed at a specific application, for example:
very large displacement (572) or very small displacement (383)
Street use instead of drag race use (targeting 2000-2500 rpm).

One nit pick of the low deck Indy intake is the bolt has a hard time clearing the outside of the runner one cylinder on each side. I have ground the outside of that runner to make it easier to get the bolt in.

I totally agree Jim. Let's just say that the specific application that is most in demand will likely be my focus. I'm thinking serious street with displacement anywhere from 450-500", but that's just me. J.Rob

It would be hard to make a drag pack style intake for them because the way the ports point towards the valley instead of up in the air like a gen III hemi. If you made really tall long runners they would have to make a sharp bend right before/during entering the head. Might work a little better if you had the ports breathing from the bottom of the plenum instead of the sides, sort of like a tunnel ram. Wish I could get the picture in my head to you, bet it would be an awesome intake

On B engines the runners have a kink for the bolt on the second and third runners on each side. Either relocate that bolt or put the boss on top of the runner so a longer bolt is used and less clearance is needed.
