Hi maybe someone can help?I just purchased a set of mopar performance hemi heads part number p 5249525. They were made in 2000 . It looks like it needs guides machined to fit (they are new and never used) anyone have any info on these any old mopar performance catalog listing them and details would help thanks

If you bought bare new castings, especially from that era , you should NOT ASSuME they are ready to be assembled . Even the assembled ones from that era were a crapshoot my my single experience .

The ones I bought had oversize guides. When using the standard size valves stems we had .005" clearance. That's way too much.

I sent the heads off my brand new crate motor that only had factory run time to be checked and the only thing reused were the castings , even had to install guide liners .

I bought a set in 98, with low miles, they were sucking oil down the guides, had to have them reworked.

I looked in a 2002 mopar catalog it said hardened seats but nothing about machining at all so i will have the machine shop check them out . The guides need machine work for sure. thanks
