Hey guys,

Still researching and planning purchases for my 1971 Road Runner clone project.

I've been looking into reproduction Air Grabber kits? Can anybody recommend a vendor or comment on the quality of what is available?

I see PG classics has a kit for $1550 ( or $1350 on eBay??? ) that has everything the but the air cans? Not sure what part they are talking about...

I've tried to search for reviews on this kit.... just a find a few old ones that say stay away... but then found a couple of posts about them being re-tooled for better quality?

My two main concerns are fit and function... I'm less concerned about it being 100% correct. If it fits well and functions properly I'll be happy... even if you can tell its a repop when parked next to an original N96 car.

PG Classics, and BEAParts sell the same items, I'd recommend you deal with BEAParts if you decide on "their" items, www.Americansportscar.com has airgrabber hoods/airboxes for 71/2's as well if your interested

The re-pop switches still have the three nubs break off like the originals.

you can spot them very easy
just by how the bubble fits on to the hood.
for the amount they want for a repop,i ended up going original.
i'm tired of making stuff fit right....

The bubble is "fatter" looking and the underside of the door looks like an injection mold nightmare.
Some of the other parts are fine- the brackets, flapper assy, airbox, hinge. It's just the bubble and door that are off.
If you decide you want to go with originals I have 2 sets. You can PM me here. Not trying to steal the thread or make a sale but I can help if that's the route you want to go.
