well you have a point there those are designed for airflow not really waterprotection, but i guess when you have what most people spend on a house wrapped up in ONE of your cars you dont drive it everyday, guess your right not really and everyday car. but both cars are extremely dependable, stay cool, always start and get better milage than any high compression motored car i ever had and they are very powerful. I drove that GTX from Phoenix Arizona to Riverside California, see that word "Drove" 75=80mph most of the way in 95 degree weather and it never got over 200 degrees and get this 17 mpg!!! and it never missed a beat.but rest assured that my new cadillac is rain proof so i am safe! a street car with a blown hemi in it how stupid!!whoed want that!!!

This post could get ugly..
Anyways, I've been stuck in a 20 minute downpour with mine. I wasn't too worried about the hood blower set up. I was just [censored] that my wipers quit workin. I drove 44 miles one way to a car show and got 7 1/2 miles a gallon with 4.56's. And ,I, like DD, no Chrome except the timing chain cover and alternator, It's all stainless or polished Aluminum.. So the saying "If it don't go, chrome it" doesn't apply. I'm hoping that before the end of the year this year or first thing next spring to see 10.90's. I'd say get yourself a 3" cutting disc on a die grinder and start cutting small. BUT make sure it's a hood a purist would really, really want..
When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..

Chrome or polish is not me at all. I hope you noticed in my blown-Hemi shot that the blower is satin, and I hope to leak a bunch of race gas down the side for that cool patina.
And, sin of all sins, the Hemi will be black.

oh theres no denying that a blown hemi would make just about anyone happy but there are some that like to make huge power and have it idle all day in trafic inconspiously.

An 8-71 can easily add 200 hp to any engine you've got while maintaining driveability. But it also means a big tacky hole in the hood. Is it time for blowers to come back or not? Let's see your blown cars! And--more importantly--let's hear how fast they are.
DF
Europe calling.... The Netherlands to be precise...
"in-your-face"-blowers are cool... I've got a 8-71 Kuhl-Blower on the shelf, next to a 4.15" crank waiting for me to get my butt into gear to start progress on my 440. I also have a Hilborn-injection scoop for it when I might decide to go that route.
Then comes the moment to decide where put it in. I've got 3 candidates for it; -'64 Chrysler NewYorker Salon -'67 Dodge Charger -'71 Dodge Dart
The '71 Dart is already 'dragrace-ready' with a fiberglass hood and all, and the blower would be "natural" in there. And I think it would look pretty cool in the '67 Charger. But ... as the '64 NewYorker will be my daily driver pretty soon, I'm really trying to find good reasons why I shouldn't drop it in it's engine bay....
I only know of one more "driven" blown Mopar here, it's a very green Challenger. It used to have "Show&Shine"-setup on it, but I believe the owner has made the blower functional by now.

I think they are cool if they can back it up. Nothing makes me laugh harder than for a blower car to show up at the track and proceed to run 13's...... Heck 318's can lay down 13's. LOL
The look of them screams "power", but if they don't ever get used for what they were made for, what's the point in having one?
Cool if they are making your car go fast AND you are using it!
Un-cool if they are just sitting there for the "look" and only powers your ride on & off the trailer because you are afraid you might hurt something or be embarassed at the track.

Amen to that! Nothing is more cool than a well done execution of either form of forced induction. It's true that turbo's are more efficient but effiency isn't alway's the ultimate goal. Hemi's were born to be blown.
