take the hose from your compression tester & pipe some air in from your shop air compressor to each cyl(at tdc) & see if it's coming out the tailpipe(s) or carb or radiator.

Would do if I had a compressor.
Hence needing to take it and have a complete leakdown done.

bent valve? dont run it. sooner or later you'll lose a seat, have it bind up and destroy the valve guide, roast the moter

Much more likely that this is the problem, than a bent valve.
The heavy part of the spring is likely broken, and only the dampener is remaining. IT's enough to close the valve on a copmp test, but it bounces while running, giving you your issue
