I've got a 69 Dart (stock body not cut up, not going to). I am going to upgrade to rear disc brakes and will be using steel wheels.

A co-worker has a set of Hoosier Drag radials he is willing to sell me for a very good price. He said they are 28" tall, 10" wide. Will those fit on my car without having to alter anything?

Feel free to direct me to a wheel/tire thread if there is one, as I imagine there is.

Thx.

I know on my boys Dart the 28" Hoosiers we tried were very close and would rub in the front going thru the traps at the track. 10" wide may fit if you have the right wheel with the right backspacing. That said my son runs 26 x 9.5 Hoosier QTP tires. I honestly dont remember the wheel width but they are 15's. This is about the best pic I have of his as I believe the 67 to 69 wheelwells are the same as his 72 and his are all stock and the springs are in stock location. Ron

Here is another pic of his. I know his 26 x 9.5 Hoosier QTP tires sometimes rub a tiny bit on hard turns against the leaf springs. Ron

Appreciate your input.

2 guys on FABO claim 275/60/15 (which is what these Hoosiers are) will fit (with no rub), but very precise backspace measurements are needed and the rear end needs to be almost perfectly centered.

It's not the end of the world if they don't fit, as I know slightly smaller will fit, but the price will be hard to pass on, and he claims they are a exceptional tire at launch.

275/60/15's are impossible on my stock 69 dart ,no matter which backspace.I had a set of 245/60/14 on there but they rubbed inner wheelhouse.235/60/15 largest i could do with no problems.....But when you move the springs in to the framerails and minitub, well then the 325/60/15 steamrollers go in perfect!!!
