Yes, before you use either, keep an old mopar one and reuse it.

Do a search and you have a lot of learning to do.
No one makes a cheaper/junk filter like them.
just because someone hasn't had an issue with them doesn't prove they are good.
Many years ago motors didn't have filters!!

I used them for years with no problem, but as mentioned, there have been many complaints. As a result, I eventually switched to K&N.

To all the replys above, don't make the assumtion that the Fram HP filters are of the same low quality as a regular Fram filter.

The HP2 and HP4 fits GM, the HP1 and HP3 fits Ford and Mopar.
Difference of 1&2 is length, 1 is 5.75" long, 3 about 2" shorter. Difference of 2&4 is burst pressure 500vs375.

The burst rate may be better but that has nothing to do with the poor quality of the filtration elements..

Who cars about burst rate?

When I was cutting open tons of filters around 1999-2000 I could not see any difference in the junk filter inside the can

Typical Moparts, poster ask a specific question and gets answers to everything except what he asked about.

Again, the HP Frams aren't the same as the junk box store and Walmart Frams.

Indeed.

Perhaps the bandwagon could provide photographic proof of an engine failure (not a filter cut open ) directly related to a Fram oil filter? Or any oil filter for that matter.

Crickets.

Yep, just like the last time this subject came up.

Just throw a K and N in there to fill the intake with dirt 'cuz amsoil (or whatever flavor-of-the-year oil is advertised on tv) inside the pan will provide the miracle you desire. What a freakin' joke, some people will fall for anything.

Exxon/Mobil oil, Fram or Mopar filters and don't look back.
