I was asked to install a 12 point mild steed cage in a friend of a friends car and I have no idea what to charge since I have only done this stuff for myself and my father.

The scope of the project:
12 point Mild Steel cage. I’m Going to recommend an S&W kit.
Dash bars thru the dash – May make these bars myself.
Swing out door bars.
Sub frame connectors – May need to build these myself.
I plan on tig weld the cage.

If you're going to TIG it why not go Moly?

$100 per point is generally a rule of thumb, probably on the low side since its TIG welded but location plays a factor in price as well.

EDIT: I see you're local, call Pircey Race cars and ask what he charges. Good chassis work isn't cheap.

I’m tig welding it because that is how I prefer to do it. The car will see some local cruse locations too.

I personally would like to see your work, because I am in the market for the same kind of roll bar install. If you have the skills to do a tig welded install, you should be charging a professional price, less the "family discount" of course. You should be able to get a feel for what the market will bear by looking at some of the Craigslist ads. BTW, why not go with a Morrison kit? They are a lot closer in Fife>
