radar top fuel R Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 1,682 Philadelphia	On an msd setup the coil doesn't get a 12v wire it gets the two coil wires out of the box. The coil gets sent a capacitor diacharge (big jolt) for each spark. It's the same reason you can't run a standard tach off a coil fired by msd- you use the tach wire off the box.

Run a wire from the battery to one side of your ign toogle switch, then from the other side of the sw to the MSD red wire. Sounds like the relay isn't staying pulled in when the start button is released. The small red wire is the "ON" for the box. The large red wire is for the power to the box for the actual spark generation.. If you like drag racing, support your local track.
