Does anyone on this board rebuild your original alternator? Mine is date coded and would like to try and keep it original as I am refurbing my 68 RR engine. I believe it is an old 37 amp single post, single pulley.

I'm quite happy with their work also. This is the original Alt for my Road Runner.

Can you tell how they refinished your case? Is it silver paint or something else?

Could be, but that would not be a good choice because the beads would be too aggressive and alter the cast smooth surface. You could use more of a powder type abrasive with a lower pressure, but with either method you are still leaving it bare aluminum and it will corrode with time. I believe the factory method of corrosion protection was a dichromate dip, but I haven't found any company yet that would be willing to do it.

It's a mix of different media which does not alter even the smallest of the finer details in the alternator case. We guarantee our work with a 100% satisfaction promise. If you don't like what you receive you don't pay us. You're not even invoiced until AFTER you recieve the alternator or starter. Our reputation is everything and we intend to keep it that way. Please call me to discuss the details (803)924-6247.

Jim has my highest recommendation. I have known him for many years, and can tell you he is honest, upstanding and does the best work out there-I use him exclusively.
