can someone tell me how far a fuel rod should travel in a 68 440 block, I am measuring .280 with my indicator. Is this enough? there are different numbers on the web ranging from .75 to .25. I am not getting fuel into my carb.
- the fuel rod is not mushroomed and measures .220 - in spec
- the fuel pump is pushing and drawing when i depress the arm, it is also new.The travel on the pump does not seem to be more than 1/4-3/8, I will neasure with indicator
- new tank,gas lines
- the gas line is not connected to the vent line at the tank

I do have an mallory 140 electric fuel pump in stock but prefer the mechanical for this car.

I was really looking for the spec of the stroke, I cannot find it in my manual. I know there will be alot of opinions on this but really would like the spec.

Thanks

I tried to find me 440 cam so I could measure the lobe lift then subtract the base circle but I cannot find it (too much stuff) but I dont think 1/4-3/8" travel at the end of the rod is going to cut it
