Aurora, Oh.
I have been running the Eddy carbs now for at least the last 8 years and have not sent them to anyone yet but the thought has crossed my mind (Dvorak if anyone). I run 2 of the 800's on mine and it's just a matter of tuning them right with squirters, jetting and metering rods. Jet for MPH and then play with the rods to get them correct for the air. The front squirters and the pump rods are for initial hit. I am no expert at all when it comes to these but I can get my car to run decent and consistant. So what is the problem you are having?

Dustin,

Damon Kuhn is who did ours. Gary Jacob on this board should be able to help you as well, he is on this board and knows a lot about them. Also my old man is pretty darn good at going through them, he has helped a few people out getting them to run. If you are out there this weekend he said he would go through it for ya. By the way we sold the other set we had, that I was telling you about...

Hope this helps,

Casey

thanks Casey and Russ.. at the mopar nats we had eddy go through them and they where changing thing and helping us out a lot.. with the last setup they did it now it feels like the car wants to go, bog, then good again and then i feel it nose over about 900ft and then comes back alive at 1100ft.. RMP's just dont climb like they should and it was a night and day difference from the eddy to my holley i have on my car.

if your running a single afb carb it probably will never be as fast as a single holley. the bog or hesitation is probably in the metering rod step up springs. read this link a couple of times and you should be able to get it as good as anyone.
but then again my car never runs the same twice

i find this thread interesting.i relutantly put a single out of the box stock 800 eddy on my 65 street car so i could race n/ss at indy monster mopar.i had a 850 holley on the car before.i thought for sure my car would slow down.much to my surprise my car was a little more than a tenths faster with the 800 eddy.i never would have thought it would be faster than the holley.even though the calculator said my combo only needed a 780 cfm carb.i was going to take it off when i got home but it drives so well im leaving it on the car for now.

when we put it on out of the box on the new motor it was about a tenth slow.. but i think a lot of it was in valve springs. the car had sat for about 4 years.. and was super consistent.. when i went to the 10 grander last year 5 out of my 7 passes for the weekend where 7.63's. but i had this bright idea of changing motors this year the week before the mopar nats, so we didnt get much testing in.. thanks for the info

We've had a Holley 850 for years and just about everything we put it on slows down. Been through it and through it looking for issues but for some reason it's a turd.

Similar experiance here too. I have an older Holley 800DP and an 800 Edelbrock. Tuned both with an AFR gauge and at the track. Have never been able to get the Holley to match the Edelbrocks times at the track.

If your Eddy carb is nosing over on you it's usually the springs that are causing that problem.I found a stiffer spring worked best in those carbs. I raced my car with a 360 and had a 750 eddy carb that worked great.
