First off Thank you to everyone that came. This years event was far more trying than anyone could have anticipated.

Friday the rain then the hail storm and the delay getting started on Saturday due to te track not having the surface ready at 9am because it had rained basically all night long.

To compound those issues we accumulated roughly 17 hours of clean up due to breakage and oil downs. Some the full length of the race track and some te full length of the full length of track by the same car on different occasions (insert a team theme song here)

To address the confusion on the 10.5 class. We had a racer who for some reason there car number was not entered into the computer. The ladder had been printed and he was to be at the bottom of the ladder. He wasn't and once that was established we had to recreate the ladder. There was some shitt talking that took place in the lanes between the guys who happen to sponsor the class. It was friendly banter and the racers no one called me to get special treatment and they know that as sponsors if teaser falls a certain way that they will race one another. That has never been a question and will never change. So to the people who posted about this matter if you don't know the facts don't speculate just to up your post count.

The quick 32 I take complete responsibility for.
I have been publically and privately been beating every Mopar powered center steer open bodied dragster roadster or go cart about showing up. We had failed every year to fill that side of the ladder. I guess I got what I asked for as we had 37 cars come out for the class. If I did not split that ladder I would insult everyone that I recruited. If I split it I was going to have to cut the cars who were below #16 on each side who had not went 5.99 or quicker or ask the door cars to race an extra round to get to the finals. Not a call I wanted to make but I made it. I know it upset those racers but between the two decisions I felt this was the best I could make at the time.

That being said I publically apologize to those racers and am willing to offer free entry into all 3 races for 2013 to make it up to them. I will not let that happen again.

As for the car that received the extra qual attempt that was just ignorance on my part. What I had in my head as the situation and what was facts were not correct. I should have told him to enter into super pro and move on but I didn't so I will offer the racer who was bumped because of that the same deal. Free entry to all 3 races in 2013. I know that does not change what happened but I feel sincerely bad about the way things played out and I hope this helps mend the relationship with those racers.

Thanks for listening

Josh

Very classy, Josh. Takes a real man to address mistakes. I did not attend, but look forward to supporting the series next year.

First of all Josh THANKS for being a very responsible promoter

Starting up a new series takes (kanuts) and I'm sure there will be learning curves on BOTH sides!!! Promoter, racers, show car participants and swap vendors all may have some problems but the only way to fix them is to talk about them to the parties involved. Anytime something comes up bring it to the attention of the others in a responsible way and don't just start beating up each other. We all NEED each other to continue on doing what we love in any venue of this series. If there is anything I can do to help assist in any way just let me know and I'll do whatever I can. We all want a place to 1st have fun and 2nd to be competetive with others as thats what we love to do. We all have banter with others and most times it's all in fun and we should understand that. Life is short and the way things are going now we need to have a place to go to and be with friends, have fun and be competetive and go home happy knowing we are all one. I look forward to next year at all of your events and even other events if they fit in the schedule to continue to meet with my friends!!

I know we had a real good time at the event but like anything new you always have to tweak it to get it right. I am positive that Josh meant well and will continue to improve the events. I know that we will attend his events in the future and I hope everyone else does the same. Between weather and oil downs it cut the time in half so snap decisions had to be made. Hopefully oil downs will not continue in that manner again, could not belive my eyes. Best of luck next year Josh, you have our support. Poppaj

Weather and oil downs are not Josh's control, BUT with almost 500 cars, 3 days of racing, a time trial on Sunday is pointless IMO. Only reason you should get a time trial is IF you arrived on Sunday, or never got a time run the rest of the weekend.

Another thing out of Josh's control was the Victory NSS rules. A friend was in this class, and was told he could NOT compete in the CRT 10.O shootout also. He was allowed the year before, but some of the NSS racers bitched, and said he could not run that also. He was also not allowed to run the Saturday No box class. Personally I would tell the Victory NSS director to pack sand.

Just a thought:
How about having the free gamblers race on Thursday for the "pre registered" only. This would give those guys something to do and keep the schedule rolling the rest of the w/e.

A free race on Thursday will cost someone 4-5 THOUSAND ADDITIONAL Dollars, minimum. You have to pay for the ambulance, track being hot (rental), additional track supplies, tech workers, track workers, announcer, et shack, and most likely show up on Wednesday to be able to run it. Then you have to pay for track rental of another day to enter the facility on Wednesday and another additional day of track insurance. Then on top of all of that, listen to the guys B ! I ! T ! C ! H ! because they could not take off a day early and the stupid planning of a free race which they could not attend!! You guys should try this sometime.

Jeff,
the victory director has nothing to do with the rules of our group, they are voted on by the members of the group and discussed at the meetings for everyone to voice an opinion. Steve raced in the 10.0 class at St Louis cause he didn't know he couldn't an no one really noticed. I did and congratulated him on winning, I consider him a friend. some of the others found out about it and it was voted on as a group.
thanks
Russ

Russ, Since you know Steve, he was good with the decision, but personally, I don't get it. When you drive 12 hours to a race, you should be able to enter as many classes as your car can fit in.
