Should jet changes be made one size at a time? I understand they are square jetted and to do both carbs at the same time. Im starting with 92's and wondering about going up to 93's or 94's. I feel like this is my stupid question of the day.
Thanks

Take it to the track. Square them off and make a run. Change to 2 sizes up - if it gets faster - repeat the process until it slows down. Then move to 1 jet size down and find the drop off point.

If you are starting at 92 - you are going to be close to begin with - my 511 likes 92 squared on twin 1050s with my T-Ram. Having said that - my car is weird - it's dead fat - but keeps getting faster up to 92 or 94 depending on the air. Bigs thought I would be at 86 - Ha!!!

Thank you, that makes sense. What was your car running for speed and time?

It really depends on which carbs you have My old Holley 9375 came with 92 jets and no power valves, the 9375-2 HP carbs. came with 84 and dual power valves I bought a 8896-2 HP several years ago, it came with 84 and dual power valves. That carb was dead pig rich stock, the power valve restriction channels where like .090+ diameter As soon as the motor went to WOT the AFR would drop down to less than 10.3 AFR ,if I'm remembering correctly Luckily I was dyno testing that carb. at Vrbancic Bros, they owned and operated the Carb. Shop next door, so they got a handle on it after we reduced the jets from #84 to # 76, two sizes at a time, with no big changes on the AFR or power They removed the rear power valve and ended up restricting the PWRC down to around .030, I think. We put 90 in the rear and 84 back in the front and went from there, that was a bunch better but still not as good as the old 9375 non HP was

That's the beauty of running 2 carbs you can jet them Big enough (92-94 should get you in the range)and not have to run power valves. Also I have never been able to make the power valves work on a tunnel-ram.

PS I have been told by many of the Pro's Horse-Power is Horse-Power it matters not which engine you use,but have always had to run more fuel with my Mopar engines than what the chevy Guru people say run.

New bullet so we hadn't sorted out yet. Some test hits adjusting the shocks we had it at 9.31 at 148.896. Should go 9.0x - 9.1x - but you know how "should" goes............
