I have a 72 Dart 318 with the biscuit motor mounts and I have the newer spool type crossmember.
I seem like I have to elongate the holes more to make it work. Are they the same as the biscuit style cross or is that my problem??

I went 72 biscuit to 74 spool 3 speed to 4 speed. It fit fine. Also went with a urethane mount.

Have you tried turning the cross member around? Or does that make it worse?

Is there any chance that you have the wrong spool mount? Pickup and possibly van mounts are different than car mounts.

here is the mount i currently have. if you look close enough you can see where I have been trying to rhem the hole out to make it work, but i would like to figure out the problem. the tailshaft is sitting back too far on the trans mount.

be nice to have both cross members to compare old style and new. it seems to me maybe the biscuit motor mounts move the engine back some and if I had the spool it would be more forward. i dont know anyone have both to do a side by side??
