From an Ebay listing:
NEW OLD STOCK TRW FORGED PISTONS.

PART NUMBER L2293F STANDARD BORE.

THEY FIT 383 CHRYSLER

.368 DOME

5/64 5/64 3/16 RING LANDS

1.915 COMPRESSION DISTANCE

12.42 TO 1 WITH 78.5 CC CLOSED CHAMBER HEADS

11.05 TO 1 WITH 88 CC OPEN CHAMBER HEADS.

They have a big dome with a "fire slot" for the spark plug, definitely old technology.

One other thing: They are heavy.

heavy forged piston that is called a 12.0 piston in a 383 , but probably closer to 11 depending on the head used .

Keep looking ...

Theoretically, I agree. I'd check Mancini to see if he's got Diamonds on sale. Also, does Probe make a piston?

The 383 should love to rev and if you can take 100 - 150 grams out of each piston it'll live up to its promise. It's worth the extra $. Also, the pistons set up the rest of the engine and they're worth spending more on to get what you NEED.

Mancini has 4.280" Diamond flattops for 3.75" stroke 6.358 rod 383 blocks for $499. Are you sure you don't want a stroker?
You're only one crank and $249 away!
