The fast idle linkage on the thermoquad that's on my Challenger is very stiff. So stiff in fact, that to engage or disengage it, you've got to move it by hand. I've got a second (parts only)carb off a 76 smogger engine, and that linkage moves easily. It appears (on both carbs) there is what appears to be a slotted screw that holds the linkage to the base of the carb.
Does anyone know if in fact this is a screw that can be loosened to make the linkage operate properly, and if it is, how in the h*** do you move it? Does it require a special tool? I've tried on the parts carb to turn it (counter clockwise) with a large screwdriver with no success. Other than that the carb on the car works just fine and dandy. The carb thats on the car is a model 6453S.
Thanks for any help.
