Had the car at Norwalk this past w/e and recorded a new best. This is the first 10 second pass and it just barely made it : 10.99 @ 121.5 with a 1.55 60ft. Big improvement in the short times with the new Ultimate converter....thanks Lenny The car is a TANK and comes in at 4230lbs raceweight with a full tank of gas ! With a 705hp/720tq motor do these results seem in line ? The Moparts calculator shows an 11.15 ET so it's slightly overachieving based on that Formula. Ron

Congrats on your new best. According to the wallace calc et is 630 and mph is 608, both flywheel. I also run an ultimate, great converter. Mick

Congrats Ron The look on your face with that time slip in hand was priceless! The car is beautiful and now really runs strong for a car of that weight. I'm sure it's in line for what you have and maybe even better and I think with some more fine tuning it will get even faster!!!! Can you say 10.75 and then with slicks and lose a few lbs I can see 10.50's Great to see all you guys at Norwalk and thanks for the "Brews" !!!!! Russ

Niiice buddy!! With all them 572 cubes I figured you'd run a NINE Love that Charger! I see you got a roll bar but wonder why it's so heavy? Mine (factory no option 'stripper') weighs well under 4000 with me in it and I'm ~230. But I was thinking you had a 4 speed?....like mine was. As for the ET, not really that unusual for motors with big fat torque curves to outdo the Wallace Hp calcs, in other words you have a much higher than average torque output across the powerband than most motors that make that hp. Real happy for ya bud!!

Thanks for the nice comments guys....much appreciated ! Randy & Russ ; good seeing you guys again....Norwalk is my favorite event of the race season. Deaks ; the 630hp number you quoted seems in line. The engine made a "corrected" 705HP on the dyno but we don't race in corrected air unfortunately. I suppose a 10% loss for belt driven accessories, high underhood air temps and an elevated DA seems reasonable. The Pig still has a battery up front, a power steering pump/box and flat hood....so NO fresh air. I have some upgrades planned this winter ; battery re-location, fuel cell, manual steering and maybe a 'Glass hood with scoop. Bobby ; it's heavy because everything is there and then some ! Heater box, sound deadening insulation, heavy x-pipe and 3in exhaust, 8pt mild steel bar, 300lb World Megablock, and a Truck Dana that has to weigh 300lbs. Stabbing the pedal at launch just results in lots of tire smoke but loading the converter to 1800 seemed to work OK. Dwayne made a few suggestions regarding the Cal-trac & shock adjustments so i'll give that a try next time out. Ron

Ron you have any more pics of the beast you can post ? You know the 68 is my favorite year Charger and I really have not seen many pics of it and I would love to see more shots of her. Congrats again on the new best as it is fun to have a 10 second NA street car. Ron

Congrats on the new best
Did you ever add a scoop to the hood ? If I remember correctly you said the carb was pretty close to the hood
Great going on the 10.xx
Hi Rob, you have a good memory
Yep, the carb is close to the hood but everything fits with a 14x3 drop base air cleaner. I have the flo-thru top and approx 3/4in clearance to the hood.
No fresh air as of yet but i'm strongly considering it and maybe a 440-2 intake
