Just got the hemi nightmare fired for the first time last night, ti has got hte stage V 2 x 4 single plane intake and I was wondering how well they have performed? Will take it to the dyno soon if it survived the initial warm up.

No one answers - what the heck ?

IŽll give you a couple of sentences from e-mails from Tim Banning @ FHO. We were talking about the potential of that StageV intake...

"Just about every engine we build today is a 540 or 572, as they cost no more to build than a 426 or 472. (roller cam engines have no problem exceeding 800hp)The larger engines make quite a bit more torque."

"We have been able to build 800hp street engines with good heads and cams of .640” lift, 266 duration, on 112 centerlines. Some engines, due to intake or head restrictions, may require more aggressive lobes, typically, 268/272 duration, with lift numbers in the high sixes. If your head flow curve is slanted to high lift only, you may need to run one of our Pro-street camshafts, which are .700” plus, with durations in the 275-280 range on a 112 centerline."

I would too really like to hear Moparts members real life experiences !

weŽll get back - I guess Jyrki will give you our numbers when we have dynoed my engine weather I like it or not.....

If there is no more answers to this topic we can use Finnish as well

No idea, but I'm guessing a lot. What would a typical hemi make with the same build???

I have read somewhere its about a 50HP difference at 700 or so, Its been 2 years since I researched it though. I have the same manifold and Magnafuel shear plates on mine. Tim

My motor made 790hp@6600 and 705lbft@5300 with same intake. I have undestood that in your motor everything is "bigger" so it will be interesting to hear how it run in dyno.

i've never had anything to compare it with, but the 472 in the car right now runs that intake, and so does the 540 on the stand.

tim has said what was said earlier in one of the posts, that with the larger c.i., heads and decent sized cams that the intake is a good 50-60hp over the stock manifold.

Since yours is a 572" and mine is 604" our goals are:
791hp and 706lbft

We have made over 850 on a 528 race engine with a 680ish roller and out of the box 800 edelbrock thunder series. Just mild port matching with no rework.
You can pm me for more details.

Oooh that sound is sooooooo beautiful
Like music to... actually it sounds like a healthy Hemi !

Jyrki massaged my intake also - I think quite heavily...
i have to choose between 750 holleys or 800 edelbrocks.
with my previous engine (690hp 471" Hemi) the holleys worked better.

Would you share a little more of your engine specs ?
CR, cam, ported heads....

Just got off the phone, dyno time is next saturday the 29th.
CanŽt wait to see what happens....

Thanks for that info !
We have now a couple of engines to compare with.
Every engine is its own so if yours made 836hp and PasiRŽs engine 790hp we should be somewhere there....
speculations are allways great - just have to hope that those speculations do happen also.

With my prevoius engine it did not happen and I lost my nerves almost totally -> sold the engine....

here are some of my specs:
604" Hemi
11.8 to 1 comp.
StageV big valve heads
Ported by Darren Tedder (Prism racing)
flowed 424 @ .500 lift
486 @ .700 lift
478 @ .800 lift
Cam is a roller from Tedder 274/282@.50 .765 lift
