Well I just got back form spending the day at the recetrack watching Drag week. Fastest pass was a 66 Chey 2Nova that went 7.04 @ 199 MPH. There were many 8.5 second cars, all power adder Big Chevys.
The one really cool Mopar was an Aussie Charger w a twin turbo 440 that makes like 2400HP he was having transmission TQ problems and didnt make a fast pass. He said the fastest he had gone was 8.2 and he figures its a mid 7 car when it gets right.
Other Mopars of note were a 62 Lancer with a 440 ran mis 11's and a 70 Cuda AAR clone with a BB that ran 10's, Real nice White 68 Dart with a 420 inch W9 headed car that ran low 10's. All in all it was a very good day these Hot Rod special events just rock!
BTW anyone going to this or any event in Memphis in the future, I only live 2 miles from the track and have a nice 3 bay garage and an extra room. Glad to have ya for a guest.
