Went racing last week and hurt the trans . First pass it launched a few feet and unloaded the tires and spun REAL good ..then hooked so i ran it out to a blistering 10.40 Next pass I put a 3K chip in it to calm her down a bit, let go of the button and it launched about 2 feet and ZINNNGG !! up on the 7K chip. For a split second I thought it just boiled the tires.... then realized the car wouldnt move. So i went to 2nd and then 3rd drove it back. No 1st gear , but I have everything else. My guess is my fancy bolt in sprag let her bits n pieces loose.... Yes ? I was just getting ready to order a ladder bar kit too..

You got a billet drum in that? If not it should have put the dash thru the windshield. If it is a stock one it is definitely time to retire it as I'm sure it is full of stress cracks now . Can a billet one be put back in service after turning 27 bazillion RPM? Kevin

I always worry about this with my 727. I assume it has a manual valve body with no low band apply. I hurt my last trans this same way and it had a bolt in sprag. just busted the case to turn the sprag.

I agree. The best thing would be to buy a good drum. Dont lift in first gear.

When i read the thread title, i thought your engine had gone bang. Kevin, i fitted an A & A VB with LBA, after the last time i broke the sprag. Mick
