Thanks. I doubt my local bolt suppy place will have the correct bolt but I'll pick up something close to test fit my new radiator until I can find my originals. I know I have them somewhere in my mess of a garage.

Yep, and to take it one step further. It's a 1" captive washer and the bolt is 7/16" hex size with an indented head - black phosphate, USUALLY it has an N head marking
I would use the stainless it looks better with that radiator !! Bill, it appears your in depth description of the bolt is mute since he is putting in an aftermarket radiator

LOL The stainless bolts and washers were $1.00 for everything.
I do appreciate the description and pictures of the correct bolts.
I do have the correct coded 1971 big block 22" manual transmission radiator that needs recored. Boy was that hard to find. I'll be using the original bolts(when I find them)on the correct radiator.
The car's original 383 engine was long gone before I bought the car, in it's place will be a 440 Six Pack engine.
I do have the car's original #'s 4 speed which will be used in the car.
I'm trying to keep the car semi original and make a strong running enjoyable driver, I'll let the next owner worry about doing a correct original restoration.
Thanks guys, the info really saved me a lot of hassle and time finding the right bolts.
