curious,70 runner, auto, console,factory shifter,wondered if there is a better shifter that fits with console,like a shifter that would be more ratchet type? anybody install something diffrent?and keep the console? i have extra console tops,so i can fabricate if needed,just tossing the idea out while at work thanks

You could install an E body slap stick but you'd need to use the E body bell crank to keep the ratios of linkages correct..

If you wanted something "stock" looking, E body is kind of "stubby" for the 68-70 B body location...the late 70's Cordoba/Magnum set up might fill the bill? kind of a cross between E and B, should be easy enough to transplant into a 70 console?...

thanks Randy and Mike,i will look into both,didn't know if there was an after market that fit right in,and was common but i just didn't know

B&M Quicksilver, did this over twenty years ago. Don't think the console really needed this much trimming.

Use a slap stick and shorten the length of the upper arm from 2.5 to 2.25" (effective length, hole to hole, centers).
