Bird again you are full of Bull.

For years KOS was one class Super Street. The rule was 28X10.5. How do I know. I had a 28X11 Goodyear and was not allowed to run.

KOS SS was generally following the rules of NMCA SS and later we were allowed 29.5X10.5. Then by the year 2001 allowed 31X10.5W and then following NMCA, sense a lot of us ran both classes, KOS followed allowing 33X10.5W, but with a weight penalty.

EZ street ran smaller tires. Later they, following NMCA's Easy Street class they too stretched the tire rules to larger than 28X10.5.

Mucle Street was smaller. I think a 28X10.5 street tire or equivalant was their rule.

Bird, KOS was ran from the early 90's all the way to the last year in 2005. We ran MSD 7AL boxes with a retard box and no progressives or timed timing controllers. So why are you trying to diss the series? For those years it was what it was. No TT5 as you comment in the later years, but we ran by rules which were more restrictive than any of the classes ran for Heads up street cars today.

Never winning a round of KOS racing is no reason to run it down. A series where many people met a lot of freinds, saw their car on ESPN or in the mags for the first times.

Bird I take up for you all the time but BS statements like this is why a lot of people don't care for you.

Leon

Dang Leon...take a chill pill dude...it was just a stupid jack daniels post...some of you people take chit way to serious, have a good day leon

For the most part of the series the rules were very close to NMCA super street and ez street rules as I remember?? Not sure after my pops quit racing in 02. I didnt get started till 07 after it was officially dead? For the most part of my pops racing it was on the 31w tire but they were starting to have 29" true10 races around here before he parked it and it was going 5 teens at 140 in 1/8 and weighed 3300 lbs? Maybe you have the inside scoop?

Can ya post some pics of your dads Cuda?? Maybe some pics as it sits now??

I have sold tires for years and can answer this question. There is a huge differnce in the 28 and the 33. It has nothing to do with being a true 10.5 tire. Most 31 and 33 W tires only measure 10.8 inches. There were some 11.2's tires but they were bad new in series like NMCA and KOS as if they ever got wide your run was thrown out.

MT used to issue contact patch measurements for their tires. A 28X10.5 tire you have X amount of square inches of contact patch. A 28X11.5 you have say X+Y for contact patch. A 29X10.5 would give you more than X+Y. An inch of height is worth more than and inch of width. The taller the tire the better off you are with contact patch.

I catch a lot of flack as I now own some 31X13 steam rollers. But, I also raced on 285/60/15 McCreary round track DOT tires back in the day. SO I know a little bit about how to run a small tire.

Career best 8.02 @ 169 at 3050# and 10" tires small block power.

EZ street you could run slicks and I think they changed that to street tires later maybe.
Mike had slicks on the Polara in 2004.
We ran in Muscle street and it was a fun class but no one ever talks about us. ha ha

There was a weight per cubic inch rule of like 7.5 lbs for SS and 8.5 lbs for EZ seemed pretty effective. I know my buddy ran 29/13.50/15 ET Streets in EZ.

Mopar to the bone!!!
