how much would the difference in depth be between the RR and the Cuda. I'm thinking that the Cuda would have the needed depth for all that is behind the Charger dash??!! Correct?

I fit everything from an o7 Charger under my 70 GTX dash. Eliminated the side window vent and modified the plenums to redirect the hose. Lots of pics here, you will have to scroll thru the pages to find them though

Craig, did you cover over the trunk extensions, or did they go away for the new trunk floor?

Back on this.

Originally I wanted to try and use the front core support.

This pic shows it nose high, but it's rolling!

That wasn't going to work, so I used the upper rail for a little new/old continuity and started fabbing a core support.

Still in progress, but hoping to button up the engine compartment this weekend.

Yep.. I see them..AWESOME. I have a couple of questions {of course}..Radiator mounting; do you have set that low do to the height of the thermostat? It looks like the bottom of the rad is going to be lowest point. That can't be good?? The little corner tab under the header panel; are you using those to tie the inner fender structure to the header panel? Can you show a better pic of those uncovered? I assume they are welded in position?

I'm loving it. If I can get my wifes mind off selling my Cuda, there may be hope of me doing a similar project in the future..Keep the pics coming.. I'll be using them to convince her..lol..

That is the original setup of the Charger. They mount it low to slope the hood for aero. It is still above the cradle. It is low compared to the RR's original position, but where I want it for the factory front belly pan. I'll make a small spoiler behind the bumper to connect the belly pan to. This will help direct air around the front tires without it "stacking up" and pushing up on the front bumper. Areo and handling was the last thing considered for these cars 40+ years ago. I need to direct as much air around the car instead of allowing that huge volume to get under it.

Those are the original fender braces. They were square, and I just made a triangle. They are needed to support the fender shape, so I just slotted the inner fender panel to accommodate them.

I'm getting closer on the car and starting to get into the stuff that will show real progress. I am liking it, and would actually love to keep it. Still on the fence about doing another. I was WAAAYYY to cheap on this one.

I am glad that you are posting the pics of what you are doing. It gives me a better understanding and it may help me to convince my wife.. .. At first, I had planned on dropping in a Magnum 5.2l and doing what I could to build a "retro/cruiser" type ride with modern conveniences.. See how you are doing this, I think I'd like this direction better..

I am going to lay out a material build sheet to check the difference of cost between what I had planned and what you are doing. I think your way will end up the less costly.

Measuring up for wheels. The 295's are close in the back and the 275's in the front are really too wide. Try again with 275's and 245's….

This stance is getting close.

295's.

275's.

I like the 295/275 combo, suites the big B-body.

Are there any other options for wheel offset? There are guys running 275 all the way around on A-bodies with a little modification and the right setup. I would assume your Roadrunner should have more room for meat.

Remember this is a LX strut front and not a Roadrunner Got plenty of room, just hitting the LX spindle.
