Can any one help out with some original pictures / paint codes or description of proper factory color and paint details for 1970 Rallye Wheels, are backside of rims to be painted black ? (semi gloss ?) , if back is to be black, when painting front silver are holes in rallyes to be taped off or overspray allowed thru holes

What color silver does everyone use and has anyone found a "hardware" version of the silver that looks close?

Thanks

Thanks, looks like silver applied first to entire wheel , followed by black ( in that case maybe high gloss black) would this be considered OE spec

Absolutely not!!!
Paint the wheel black, not so much the front, then spray the silver and let it overspray the backside.

I figured that would be a lot easier / correct just uncertain on the overspray??, do you know if a paint code for silver is available, and is black is flat / semi / high gloss?

It's a dry heat
gloss black single stage enamel on the backside.
let it dry and flip it over to spray the ft side with non textured argent silver
no taping of the holes is required , just let it blow thru

Mopar Muscle Feb 1999 issue 3pg spread
they taped off the front side
sprayed back side first
they used DAP black BBQ STOVE ENAMEL #760 as a primer heat
resistant to 1300 deg
followed by Krylon semi flat black (not correct ok for driver)on
the back & inside of wheel
front was then sprayed with Krylon gray primer then top coat with ARGENT SILVER
Totally Auto & Roger Gibson Restorations are referenced for the correct Argent Silver ??
I can scan article & email if needed

Over the years I've used the Mopar Performance Brand wheel paint in spray cans and was very happy with the final product.
These wheels were done with it about 10 years ago.

Yup
That's the article
Thanks, My scans were too large to post here
messed them up when resized

Now How did you find that link ??
I've got 20 + years of all the mopar mags and have to search my
spread sheet (homemade) for tech articles

I don't think there's a library of articles for
High Perf Mopars, Chrysler Power, MoPerformance mags ???
