I have been running on methanol. I will be finished and installing my engine this week.

I flushed the fuel system and other engine with 110 race fuel around December. Then emptied the lines and pump.

I have a ross 1050 alky carb with a fuel log I can put right on and start on methanol, Or I have a C&S 1400 airesol to run on race 112. Plus a new magnafuel regulator instead of the fuel log.

I was wondering if I should seat the rings in with gas instead of meth. Roller cam, B1 , 511 cube.

I ask since the engine is set back in the chassis. I run the alky carb side ways for the fuel log. I will have to cut a section out in front of the windshield cowel vents to run the carb in the normal mounting. My glass hood scoop goes up to the windshield anyways. Hardest part is doing another throttle cable is all. I was getting tired of methanol fumes, but not sure which way i'm going to go as of yet. I think the 1050 alky ross dom is to small for my engine

I'm not going to start it up for a couple of days. You still have time Im still wondering if I should do the initial start up on Methanol. How far are you along?

I can honestly say I have never seen so much wasted time and stupid delays as I have with this build..

I'm down to sending the lifters off to Isky to have them swapped out with the pushrod offset.. So maybe end of next week....???

Then.. IFFFF the pushrods clear, its just a matter of putting all the pieces together..

Will I experience any problems starting up this fresh engine on Methanol? Or should it be done on race gas first?

Plateau hone, molly ductile rings.

I would probally break it in on race gas instead of taking the risk of washing the cylinders down with the alcholol

As long as you have a gas carb handy, why take a chance?
