I'm seriously thinking of putting one of that 9-1/4's under my RR. Today I was poking around a wrecking yard trying to figure out what's in what. I know what a 9-3/4 Dana looks like and what an 8-3/4 looks like but beyond that I'm pretty much stumped. I haven't a clue what the 9-1/4 looks like!

I'm looking under Dakota's, Durango's and Ram 1500's. Most Dakota's have wee little rear ends - 7-1/4's ??? Most Durango's have larger one's - 8-1/4's ??? Most of the 1500's seem to have the 8-1/4 as well or the Dana.

So, what does the 9-1/4 come in? What's it look like?

The 9 1/4" axle has a bolt on rear cover like a Dana 60. The 9 1/4" axle has 8 sides. These axles were in most HD 1/2 ton trucks and some light duty 3/4 tons. My 2002, 2006 and 2007 RAM 1500 trucks all had them. They were made from about 1968 through 2010.
