How much clearance do you guys like to see between the front of your drag radials and the front wheel arch??? In other words- How much do they grow in diameter??

They don't grow near as much as the bias plys do, the amount of growth will vary depending on MPH of course, IE no growth at 100.00 MPH , 1/2 inch diameter of growth at 130 MPH or so. This is a eaxmple, probally not very accurate

I have seen alot of drag radial cars that run really fast and run them very tight. I have seen them under a 1/4"

The almost don't grow at all. I have several buddies that have less than a 1/4" & are going over 200MPH on 315's. My 315's on my Challenger are about 1/4" all the way around also with no issues.

Thanks guys. I'm installing a set of ladder bars in my car and want to mount the rear as far forward as possible without fear of the tires hitting wheel lip. Would 1/2" be enough clearance?

Thanks for the picture! So you're saying you only have 1/4 at the front as well??

Maybe a llittle more at the front edge. There is less than a finger width at the wheel lip, inner side of the wheel tub/frame rail.
