I just put a new TTI system on my 100% stock 70 Charger R/T. It is the 2/5" H pipe with manifolds and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. The mufflers have bad drone and I an looking for something quieter with no drone but the only thing I am finding that is a direct repacement (no pipe cutting) is Walker Quiet Flow 3 mufflers which I think are a OEM type muffler. Anyone else know of any other quieter direct fit replacements for the Dynomax 17784

They can have a drone around 2000rpm.You can install two resonators in the tailpipes(a bullet muffler works good).

Otherwise you will lose flow or go to a louder muffler.

I think accurate ltd has a high flow muffler w/o the drone as well.Or the dynomax muffler with the flap inside that opens under pressure.

I use a pair of cheap bullets behind the axle to kill the drone. Cheaper and easier than redoing the entire system.

Master, again and still

They drone bad at about 40 and 60 MPH. If I drove 30 or 50 all the time they sound fine.

These look to be the same size and a OEM noise level muffler. I wonder how these wold sound on a stock 440 HP with the 2.5" H pipe system? Kind of like a new hemi truck, a little growl but generally pretty quiet?

Has anyone ever used the Dynomax gaurantee, sent back new mufflers you didnt like? Mine are less than a week old but I am going to do something. They are as loud (a differnt type of noise though) at 40 & 60 as my old glass packs are all the time and I was looking forward to driving down the highway and not getting a headache.

never had a problem with Super Turbos droning.

Might want to double check the entire exhaust system routing and ensure nothing is rubbing and it is all isolated.

Don't be the exception.

send em back & replace with a different type or easiest would be to add some glasspack/bullit type resonators alongside the leaf springs

My big block Chevelle had a nasty drone and an ungodly rap accelerating...put a 1/2in open spacer under the carb and changed it all for the better....open the plenum up.

The little old lady from Pasadena is back!

The 17747 Super Turbo Hemi replacement will solve your problem if headpipe size is same as O.E.M.

This appears to be the same muffler I have except with 2.25" pipes instead of 2.5"
