A real good guy I know gave me a paint formula for Street Hemi Orange paint.
Local paint shops don't have all the tints anymore.
Anyone have a good Hemi Orange Paint they spray their engines with?

I don't want correct Roger Gibson paint that dries dull and looks like crap.

I want over restored shinny single stage paint. See my attachment

The paint I had good results with in the past and I can't seem to get filled was a PPG DCC Acrylic Urethane in Quart form.
Thanks Ron

Ron..

If you use Badalson/Gibson paint and you want the effect you desire, just add some DXR80(DuPont), along with the proper ratio of reducer. DXR 80 is a gloss hardener. Follow the directions and the paint will come out shiny and very durable. I havent really found anyone local that can produce a correct color. I use the paint from Badalson/Gibson. Works great.

I use Badalson's orange and you can judge the results yourself. Note: Its hard to capture the shade of orange, but trust me, its nice.

Paint it Black,

did you do ask Mike suggested and add a gloss catalyst to Franks paint or is that out of the can? You pics show the engine to be pretty shiney.....

Your paint on that engine looks real nice.
Did you use a certain Hardner like MIke had said??

Here is an engine shot of an A12 Bee that I did a while back...Badalson paint with hardener. I do have an advantage of baking it in the booth at the body shop next door. I like them a bit shiny and overrestored, too. The gloss hardener will make that paint extremely durable as well.

I went directly over Badalson single stage with PPG 2002 clear. It's very, VERY shiny and tough. The fronts of the heads and valve covers were color sanded and buffed.
